Summary

The New York Times bestselling Injustice team of Tom Taylor and Bruno Redondo take on Nightwing!

Nightwing is back—and his drive to keep Blüdhaven safe has never been stronger! But his adoptive city has elected a new mayor with the last name Zucco。 When Nightwing enlists Batgirl’s help in investigating the politician bearing the same name as the man who murdered his parents, she unearths details that will shock and fundamentally change the hero。

Dick Grayson’s big heart has protected those persecuted by bullies in his youth, combated evil alongside Batman as Robin, and pledged his newly inherited wealth to enriching Blüdhaven as Nightwing。 His kindness and generosity have always guided his life。 But now a new villain stalks the back alleys, removing the hearts of the city’s most vulnerable。 Who is this terrifying new menace named Heartless, and will he be able to resist plucking out the biggest heart in all of Blüdhaven?

Collected in this Infinite Frontier Nightwing evolution are issues #78-83。

“It takes a different hero to help without a mask。” is probably one of the best quotes i’ve ever heard in a super hero comic book。 this book was funny & incredible & the artwork was gorgeous。 i cannot wait to read the next one。

5 stars for the artwork。 Story is really fun, though it takes some unbelievably big swings。 I did love all the Bat-Family character biz though。

The writing, the humour, the heart, the colour, the art。 Bitewing! If Tom & Bruno can keep this up, their pairing is going to be remembered as one of the all time Nightwing greats。 I have only one gripe, but I'm biased, (whispers) dickkory supremacy The writing, the humour, the heart, the colour, the art。 Bitewing! If Tom & Bruno can keep this up, their pairing is going to be remembered as one of the all time Nightwing greats。 I have only one gripe, but I'm biased, (whispers) dickkory supremacy 。。。more

Nightwing en estado puro, tanto en guión como en dibujo (te amo Bruno Redondo)。 Una belleza。

Best Nightwing ever。

This is a wonderful start to a series。 I really loved it。

4,5/5。 Took half star because it tried too much to address the new takes about Batman, making it feeling forced sometimes。

This volume hit a lot of the Bat family feels。 I was really charmed the whole way through。 Dick Grayson and Barbara Gordon are just my babies and I love them。 Loved the panels where he's reading Alfred's letter。 I'm intrigued by Heartless。 Also points for cute doggo, adding Bitewing to the comic dog family right alongside Pizza Dog from Fraction's Hawkeye。 Only thing that didn't sit right with me: There's an element of white saviorism (characters of color watching adoringly while wealthy white g This volume hit a lot of the Bat family feels。 I was really charmed the whole way through。 Dick Grayson and Barbara Gordon are just my babies and I love them。 Loved the panels where he's reading Alfred's letter。 I'm intrigued by Heartless。 Also points for cute doggo, adding Bitewing to the comic dog family right alongside Pizza Dog from Fraction's Hawkeye。 Only thing that didn't sit right with me: There's an element of white saviorism (characters of color watching adoringly while wealthy white guy gives heartfelt speech) and problems that can be solved with a press conference and billions of dollars。 Dick spends time discussing his plans to provide a safety net for Bludhaven, asking for insight from other billionaires, experts, and friends living outside of Bludhaven, etc。 but doesn't ever asks the community directly what it wants/needs。 But that seems to be the superhero comics formula。 。。。more

This book is worth reading for the absolutely gorgeous art alone。 The lights and the color, the utilization of negative space and the city skyline makes this a true piece of art。 Of course the writing is good too, not the most engaging story I've ever read but in my opinion, nothing that comes from Tom Taylor is ever what I would consider bad。 This book is worth reading for the absolutely gorgeous art alone。 The lights and the color, the utilization of negative space and the city skyline makes this a true piece of art。 Of course the writing is good too, not the most engaging story I've ever read but in my opinion, nothing that comes from Tom Taylor is ever what I would consider bad。 。。。more

Nightwing has always been one of the coolest looking characters from DC。 I had never read a story about Bludhaven’s guardian angel, not until recently with this volume。 This collection of issues by Tom Taylor (writer) and Bruno Redondo (artist)—among a group of great collaborators that contribute vibrant colors, and immersive lettering—presents a promising portrayal of the former Robin。 Here, we see Dick Grayson navigate the weight of responsibility, power, and legacy。 He struggles with his idea Nightwing has always been one of the coolest looking characters from DC。 I had never read a story about Bludhaven’s guardian angel, not until recently with this volume。 This collection of issues by Tom Taylor (writer) and Bruno Redondo (artist)—among a group of great collaborators that contribute vibrant colors, and immersive lettering—presents a promising portrayal of the former Robin。 Here, we see Dick Grayson navigate the weight of responsibility, power, and legacy。 He struggles with his ideals and whether or not they have any chance of succeeding in a city so corrupt。 We see him rely on his friends, and ultimately his family in order to push back against the terrors of the city。 Taylor and Redondo seem to be having a fun time collaborating on this series。 Taylor’s comedic style is laced with deeper and darker undertones, while Redondo’s art plays off both of these elements excellently。 Redondo’s art really shines, and provides a cinematic quality to the adventures being depicted。 Overall, I’m very intrigued to see what happens next and I’m looking forward to reading vol。 2。 。。。more

TOM TAYLOR’S RUN ON NIGHTWING IS ONE FOR THE AGES!!!!Last year Tom Taylor took over the run on Nightwing and since then it’s been getting a lot of buzz。 I was going to hold off until maybe this got turned into an omnibus, or something, but with all the rave I just got the urge to jump in。 I gotta say I’m really happy I did cause this first volume was a blast! This first volume serves as a fresh starting point in Nightwings current run and contains issues 78-83。 This first 6 issue arc shows Dick Grayson (Nightwing) being visited by an old friend, Barbara Gordan。 She drops off the will of Alfred Pennyworth to reveal that he’s left his large sum of money to Dick。 With all this new found money Dick is now a billionaire, and wants to make a difference in Bludhaven。 But of course with him being a part of the Bat-Family there’s obviously going to be a set of problems and obstacles in his way。 The Zucco family has made their way into the mayor’s office with Melinda Zucco, the daughter of Tony Zucco。 That’s right, the daughter of the guy who killed Dick Grayson’s parents。 There's also a new character going around Bludhaven taking people's hearts (and not in the romantic way)。 Nightwing has to get to the bottom of this Heartless character whilst also snooping on the new mayor Zucco, but the info he’s going to find is the last thing he’d expect。 It’s a good thing he has such a great supporting cast, and hopefully together they can make real change to the city he claims as his own。 Tom Taylor continues to impress me with his writing and storytelling ability。 One of the biggest things I loved about this read was how easy it was to digest。 I’ve never read a Nightwing issue in my life, but this was a nice starting point。 In general I don’t read current DC comics, but Taylor does a wonderful job of not making you feel like you’re missing out on anything。 There’s a couple of things that are pointed out that I was unaware of, however Taylor still writes the story in a way that lets you in, and you can enjoy it from there。 His dialogue is once again super engaging, and his plot for this arc is very interesting。 He also does a great job of giving Nightwing a fun cast。 Mainly through Barbara Gordan, but he also throws in Tim Drake’s Robin。 The new character’s like Melinda Zucco and Heartless are intriguing, and Blockbuster plays as a badass brute protagonist。 It’s all once again top notch work that is a must read for any fan of Nightwing, or like in my case, if you’re trying to get into the character。 Partnered with Taylor on this new volume is artist Bruno Redondo。 I loved this man’s work! It is such appealing artwork with some of the best techniques。 His style focuses a lot on motion, and the different ways to display that in comics, and I feel like it’s a perfect pairing for the character of Nightwing。 His panel work is also super fresh and the fight scenes feel very fluent。 Something about his work also just feels so homey and makes the book a sort of comfort read for me。 Nothing feels like too much, but it’s still outstanding in detail and I am always excited to see what he’ll do next。 It also helps that he draws some really good looking people haha。 Add the colors from Adriano Lucas, which are STUNNING, and you got yourself a great looking book。 Overall; This was a fantastic read and I’m very happy I decided to read it。 All the good things you hear about this book are true, and I couldn’t recommend it more for anyone looking for a great current run。 。。。more

One of, if not my absolute, favorite comics in my collection。 Nightwing is a character I’ve loved for a long time, in fact he’s my absolute favorite, and this is him at his best。 It checks every box I could ever want it to and the art by Bruno Redondo is SO gorgeous。 I cannot recommend this book enough。

Ahora entiendo el hype。 Es una gloria。 Una bocanada de aire fresco para la batifamilia y otra muestra que, en buenas manos, Dick Grayson es el mejor personaje salido de la factoría DC-Batman。

Robert

Apparently Tom Taylor really really really wants to write Green Arrow instead of Nightwing, so he gives Dick Grayson a Billiony dollars and turns him into a pale wanky imitation of Oliver Queen。

Nightwing: Leaping into the Light is a pretty good read。 Found myself smiling through the book and even had a chuckle or two。 Love the dynamic between Duck Grayson and Babs。Bruno Redondo’s art is clean and clever! This was good。 Like, REAL good。 I never really kept up with many longform storylines in DC, so I was a bit out of my element with some of the plot/character developments, but this is a helluva way to start reading Nightwing。 It's funny, touching, and has some absolutely BEAUTIFUL panels here and there。Highly recommended。 This was good。 Like, REAL good。 I never really kept up with many longform storylines in DC, so I was a bit out of my element with some of the plot/character developments, but this is a helluva way to start reading Nightwing。 It's funny, touching, and has some absolutely BEAUTIFUL panels here and there。Highly recommended。 。。。more

One of the good-looking comic book of DC today because of Bruno Redondo's art and Adriano Lucas' dynamic colors。 Tom Taylor's story has a lot of potential and it focuses in characters relationships。 This book also reminds me of Fraction and Aja's run in Hawkeye。 One of the good-looking comic book of DC today because of Bruno Redondo's art and Adriano Lucas' dynamic colors。 Tom Taylor's story has a lot of potential and it focuses in characters relationships。 This book also reminds me of Fraction and Aja's run in Hawkeye。 。。。more

Taylor Nightwing is enjoyable in a soap-opera, slice-of-life sort of way。 Dick Grayson comes into an inheritance and begins to make social changes in Blüdhaven, much to the consternation of the corrupt entities ruling the city。 While this can be an interesting premise, it's already been done many times - notably during Brubaker's Catwoman run。 The story feels flat。It's really the character moments that makes this run shine。 Dick is joined by other Batfam members like Babs and Tim, his former Tit Taylor Nightwing is enjoyable in a soap-opera, slice-of-life sort of way。 Dick Grayson comes into an inheritance and begins to make social changes in Blüdhaven, much to the consternation of the corrupt entities ruling the city。 While this can be an interesting premise, it's already been done many times - notably during Brubaker's Catwoman run。 The story feels flat。It's really the character moments that makes this run shine。 Dick is joined by other Batfam members like Babs and Tim, his former Titans teammates, and various other DC characters。 The interactions, dialogue and humor all land very well and make this a nice, light read。And of course the real star is Bruno Redondo's gorgeous artwork。 The cityscapes, the wide-angle shots, the way motion is illustrated, is all pristine work。 Adriano Lucas' colorwork is similarly sublime to my tastes。 。。。more
